Visited showroom about 1.5 years ago. Salesman said car would take ages to arrive (Covid, etc). Told him to contact me when inventory improved. He never did. Made another visit this year. Met another salesman since 1st was away. The model I wanted was no longer offered but new salesman was patient and gave good alternative even tho commission went to 1st salesman. Then 2 weeks ago I got a call from 3rd salesman. Car arrived. There was little handholding about when to meet and finalize paperwork. Seemed to me he was indifferent because he didn’t get commission either. When we finally agree on time to meet, he wasn’t there. Cashier asks me how much car costs…he has no access to file. Ended up complaining to a manager who was apologetic but said "the system has worked for us for years." Too bad it didn’t work for me. Although in the end communication improved a lot, too bad it took complaining to get there.

I’m ready to buy but salesmen say one thing in the showroom then something different on the phone a day later. Different price, different delivery time. Shameless.

Nearing retirement I thought I’d treat myself to a new car. Walked into an empty showroom. Salesman explained the global chip shortage meant few cars and placing an order would be a non negotiable price, require a KD 5,000 non refundable deposit and take 12-16 months for delivery. He asked for my number and I haven’t heard a peep from him since. That was almost 4 months ago.
